During my recent stay at Agriturismo Cugumia, I experienced a good blend of genuine hospitality and culinary innovation, despite the weather’s uninviting chill. Nestled near Lago Bidighinzu, this agriturismo stands out as an authentic farm, providing an intimate connection to the landscape and local practices. Hosting us were Franco and Tania, whose warmth made my prolonged journey from Canterbury feel all the more worth it. After a long day, I was welcomed with a hearty home-cooked meal, highlighting monumental flavors native to the region. The dinner showcased a traditional five-course menu featuring locally sourced ingredients, with an emphasis on fresh cheeses that pleasantly surprised my palate. Breakfast was equally nice; each morning began with freshly brewed cappuccino paired with sweet pastries that coaxed one into a leisurely start. While the accommodations may not boast luxury, the clean and comfortable surroundings reflect a genuine Italian charm. Cugumia offers great value, with dinner, drinks, and breakfast at approximately EUR 45 per person. A true sanctuary for food enthusiasts eager to experience authentic Italian cottage life.
